Which side will the Seoul District Courts favor?
Sports Korea has verified the reason, content and future of SM's injunction.

It was on the 8th that SM filed an album sales prohibition injunction against JYJ's first album. At the current moment, it cannot be known whether or not the Seoul District Courts will accept the injunction and consider it valid.

The issue at hand between SM and JYJ seems to be the scope of the independent activities JYJ won in their legal dispute with their agency. It can be predicted that both sides will engage in a fierce legal battle regarding this matter.

At the hearing on the 11th, Warner Music Korea, the distribution company in charge of JYJ's first album , stated, "We see the selling of this album as an act that is allowed according to the previous verdict made on the injunction filed by JYJ against SM that gave JYJ the freedom to pursue independent activities." It was told that the Courts seemed to agree with this statement.

It is difficult to predict the Courts' verdict at this current moment. However, it looks like the Courts' views formed from the hearing may determine the future of the injunction. JYJ's album was released in the market on the 14th. If the Courts' accept SM Entertainment's injunction as valid, all of the albums in the market will be recalled.

Both sides will be submitting additional documents till the 18th. The verdict is expected to be made later this month.

JYJ Sells A Record-Breaking 520,000 Pre-Orders Of The Beginning

YJ’s first album, The Beginning, has surpassed pre-orders of 520,000 cds.

JYJ’s distributor, Warner Music Korea, says that the production of more than “99,999 limited edition copies, 300,000 special edition copies and 220,000 regular edition copies” and supplying retailers were what caused the delay in the release.

JYJ was able to feel the explosion of interest from fans when they were preparing for the special pre-orders which has since sold out. They are still getting interest in the special pre-orders.

The general album debuted today and the special editions will be released on October 18th.

Warner Music went on to say that, “JYJ who has 520,000 copies just in pre-orders, will give the boost that the sluggish music market needs." [LINK]

JYJ vows brand new beginning to fans

The end usually opens the door for a new beginning. For boy band JYJ, however, a new beginning reflects many things: the past, the present and the future.

JYJ is comprised of Jae-joong, Yu-chun and Jun-su, the former members of one of Korea’s and Asia’s favorite boy bands TVXQ. After a long feud with their former agency SM Entertainment regarding ``slave contract’’ issues, the three idol stars have finally launched a brand new band, poised to leap again with a new album and a showcase in Seoul.

The three may have left the group, but their fans certainly haven’t left them. Some 10,000 fans packed the Hwajeong Stadium, Korea University, from top to bottom Tuesday night, to the extent where it was a bit worrisome. The area filled up instantly with young fans resembling pouring soda into a cup, and while the fans in the front dangled on the security guardrail, the ones in the back constantly moved forward to find a better position to watch the stars.

As soon as the lights went out, the three members appeared center stage, all dressed in black with rather determined expressions on their faces.

Without saying a word to the cheering fans, the trio sang ``Empty,’’ a track composed by famed producer Rodney ``Darkchild’’ Jerkens. The funky electronic number with a catchy punch is one of the 10 tracks that will be on the group’s first album ``The Beginning.’’

All recorded in English, the new record was produced by Jerkens himself, who has worked with some of the world’s most famous artists including Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, while some songs were written by hip-hop artist Kanye West as well as the band members.

``This (was) a very special project for us,’’ the producer said during a short video of the trio recording an album in Los Angeles, and it was easy to see that the experience of working with top musicians helped the members bring out a new side ― groovy and sophisticated with a hint of hip-hop.

As soon as the trio continued with the track ``Be the One,’’ it was easy to see that they were in pretty good shape. Their vocals were almost flawless: not too strong and rough like their previous TVXQ number ``Mirotic,’’ but a lot smoother and easier to listen to. Having only three voices, compared to the original five, did create a bit of a void, but JYJ managed to fill it with fancy and fluent dance moves. Yu-chun’s performance was particularly meaningful, as the 24-year-old has been working on his moves and vocals while shooting the currently airing drama ``Sungkyunkwan Scandal.’’

The R&B number ``Be My Girl’’ was a present for their fans, and it was evident the audience loved every minute of it as they screamed and reached out when the singers crooned ``you should be mine.’’

Throughout the showcase, which included two more songs plus the original soundtrack number from Yu-chun’s television drama, it was hard not to notice the excitement, joy and also some nerves on the three members’ faces. Nervous and complicated their minds may be, however, the concert was the perfect way to show fans, and the world, that they were starting all over, feud or no feud.

``The only way for us to communicate with our fans was through an album. I was worried if we would be able to continue to bring that channel to all of you, but now I think we can,’’ Jun-su said during a short interview session.

At one point, the young men looked as if they would cry, but they held back their tears and assured their fans that they were back, and back for good.

``Thank you,’’ Jae-joong started out but gave a long pause.

``There has been a lot going on and I believe there will be much more happening soon. We wanted to go on stage so bad and it was hard not being able to do so. We want to get busy and create something that you can all relate to and this record is the start of that vow,’’ he said.

The video they shot in LA showed the three singers rehearsing with artists and the producer. For the fans, this was indeed a treat since it was the first official video that showed them what they have been doing for the past months. With the local press making various speculations concerning their relationship with TVXQ and their former agency, the video assured fans that the young artists were not just reading media articles, depressed and killing time, but were actually working hard to bring something completely new, especially for the fans.

``We wanted to hold the microphone. All the albums we have worked on have special meanings, but this one required more thought and worries. We are so happy to be busy and we are grateful to the fans that helped us get back on track. Thank you,’’ Yu-chun said, waving to the crowd.

The group, whose new album can now be found in major record shops, will continue the showcase tour in nine different locations, including Thailand and the United States.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment filed an injunction on Oct. 8 to prohibit the sales of JYJ’s new album. The agency said Wednesday that signing a contract with C-JES Entertainment was prohibited before any ruling on the case.

It sounds like the Joseon era F4 is establishing a good rapport on the set of the upcoming drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. In a recent interview, actress Park Min-young said that she grew close to Micky Yoochun the fastest, and that along with Song Joong-ki and Yoo Ah-in, the four of them are as tight as siblings.

Production is well under way, and the four stars who are of similar ages became fast friends and are reportedly stuck to each other like glue. Park met Micky Yoochun for the first time on the set of the drama, but she said, “From the start, because Yoochun and I have the most scenes together, we were the first to become friends. PD Kim Yun-sung said, “The actors’ ages are roughly the same, so they all became friends quickly, without reservations, making the mood on set always bright. The staff always jokes that they’re the modern version of their characters. I think we can happily anticipate good things.”

Park’s character in the drama cross-dresses to attend the school, and makes friends with the others, becoming one of the boys. Micky Yoochun’s character is known for sticking to his principles, Yoo Ah-in plays the hopeless screw-up, and Song Joong-ki plays Joseon’s Number One Playboy.

TVXQ group member Xiah Junsu was hospitalized in Los Angeles at around 10 PM on the 3rd.

Xiah Junsu had been suffering from a very high fever and fatigue since the afternoon. Staff members and company associates rushed him to the ER as his symptoms began to worsen. An associate of Xiah Junsu stated, “Xiah Junsu was hospitalized to a hospital in Koreatown in Los Angeles at around 10PM on the 3rd local time, or 2PM on the 4th of Korean time. Because it was the weekend, we tried over 20 hospitals before finally finding a hospital where he could receive proper treatment.”

Xiah Junsu has been busy with recording schedules, and as a result he continued getting a high fever and fatigue. At first, they didn’t think much of the situation because his symptoms were that of a common cold, but as the night went on, his symptoms worsened and he was then taken to the ER. When he reached the hospital, his fever reached over 40C. After receiving emergency care and some shots he has stabilized. This associate says, ” Xiah Junsu, plus the other 2 members are in America to record their album, and they have been pouring out their passion into the recordings. Thinking of meeting their fans after such a long time with their music, they became overenthusiastic and sang repeatedly without rest, and now their body has shown these signs of fatigue.”

The three members, including Xiah Junsu were hit hard with the shocking news of Park Yong Ha’s death. This associate said, “Hero Jaejoong was very close friends with Park Yong Ha, so the news gave him great mental shock and he was unable to even speak for awhile. All three members have been becoming more and more fatigued and even when staff members around them advised them to rest, they were concentrated in recording and in result their health has deteriorated to the point of finding the ER.”

The management side says that for Xiah Junsu’s treatment, they will take a 2 days rest.

Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Hero Jaejoong are currently in America recording with Kanye West, who has a great influence in pop music. Kanye West, who was born in 1977, has won 13 Grammy Awards and is a famous Rapper/Producer in America. He has produced music for the albums of Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and Janet Jackson. The three members of TVXQ are the first to work with a major pop artist and producer like Kanye West. Because of this, many people are looking forward to what kind of product is released from this collaboration.

TVXQ and Big Bang have been nominated for awards at the MTV World Stage Video Music Awards Japan (WS VMAJ).

According to MTV Japan, TVXQ’s ‘Share the World’ has been nominated for ‘Best Group Video’ along with the works of other artistes such as the Backstreet Boys, Black Eyed Peas, and Japanese rock band Remio Romen (レミオロメン).

TVXQ has sold over one million copies of their most recent two singles and one best album in the first quarter of this year. TVXQ members who are in dispute with SM Entertainment regarding exclusive contract issue; Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun are forming a three members unit in Japan.

According to the news aired by KBS 2TV ‘Entertainment Tonight’ on the 17th, Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun are forming three members unit to explore new activities.

Official from TVXQ Japan agency, AVEX said, “The three members Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun are already decided to form a new unit. The three will be active by continuing with new exclusive contract from AVEX.”

Regarding this, TVXQ agency SM Entertainment which had been appealed by the three TVXQ members related to exclusive contract provisional injunction, promptly filed a lawsuit in claiming for damages worth 2.2 billion won as expression of their strong regret.

However, AVEX official through conversation with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ retorted, “I think the 3 members are more like the victims here. Anyway, we’re done preparing for the compensation of damages. We did this (the Japan contract) because the situation allows us to make a contract. We see no legal problem at all.”

Although TVXQ has paused activities in both Korea and Japan, the group’s power in the music industry doesn’t seem to have the slightest inclination to stop. With the three music albums they released this year, they have surpassed the million mark (selling one million copies) in just three months.

According to the Oricon Charts, Japan’s most prestigious album sales charts, TVXQ’s 30th single ‘Toki Wo Tomete’, that was released on March 24th, has sold 209,063 copies in March. Also, they have sold over 20,000 copies so far this month as well.

This means that TVXQ has surpassed the million mark with just three albums that were released this year.

TVXQ’s 29th single ‘BREAK OUT’, which was released on January 27th, sold 255,917 copies in just four days and sold 29,239 copies in February. This means that the total sales for ‘BREAK OUT’ till February were 285,156 copies.

Also, their Japanese Best Album ‘Best Selection 2010′, which was released on February 17th, sold 459,796 copies in February and 56,991 copies in March. Therefore, the total sales till March for ‘Best Selection 2010′ were 516,787 copies.

With these two singles and one album in Japan, TVXQ has sold over a total of 1.03 million copies of their newest albums.

SM Entertainment, an agency locked in a dispute with a few of the members of TVXQ, has called for these members to pay 2.2 billion Won (approximately 2 million USD) in compensation for damages while the three members’ side has stated that they were expecting this action and were calmly preparing against it.

According to the Seoul District Courts on the 14th, SME filed for a lawsuit to confirm the continued existence of the contract and an objection to the verdict of the Exclusive Contract Suspension Injunction against Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu, and YoungWoong Jaejoong.

SM stated, “The three members started this lawsuit only for ‘money’,” and “After the verdict for the injunction was given, the three members avoided their set schedules which caused considerable damage to the other members. We call for a compensation for damages of 2.2 billion Won for the cancellation of the Shenzhen concert and the fees for the cosmetic advertisements.”

In refutation to this, Lawyer Lim Sang Hyuk of Sejong Law Firm, who is in charge of the three members, stated that, “This was something we’ve been expecting,” and “We should be the ones filing for compensation for damages. We will calmly form our rebuttal against this lawsuit.”After learning of the lawsuit on the 13th, Lawyer Lim stated, “Since we saw this coming and prepared for it, we will carry on calmly.”

It can be said that the legal dispute between the three members of TVXQ and SME are about to become more heated.

The story takes place in an university that accepts only boys, until a girl decides to dress as a boy and pretends to be her own brother so she can go to that school.

Tohoshinki’s Japan production Avex announced on the 5th on Tohoshinki’s official home page that “In June Yoochun will appear on the mobile drama broadcasting office Bee TV. They are filming right now”.

It started from the leader Yunho’s drama “No Limit”, Jaejoong’s movie “Heavens Postman” and starting in April “Sunao Ni Narenakute”, Junsu’s musical “Mozart”, and who is filming right now Changmin’s drama “Paradise”. Now all 5 members of Tohoshinki is going to debut as an actor.

The reason of this is known to be because of the contract dispute between their Korean company and the 3 members, and after a conference made between the 5 of them and the officials from both Japan and Korea, they have come to a decision to suspend their activities. From now on they will be focusing on their solo activities.

Tohoshinki who had already been a top star in Korea started in Japan as a new artist, mastered the language, and did their activities steadily and honestly. In the beginning, most of their fans consist of women in their 30s and 40s who are Hallyu fans.

However, after their great efforts to improve their dancing and singing in Japanese, their fanbase has spread to females who are in their 10s and 20s, and they have become a top star in Japan.

Tohoshinki Announced Activities Suspension

Being popular in Japan, South Korea boyband TVXQ on the 3rd announced through their management agency AVEX that they would suspend their activities in Japan.

The label company will continue to support solo activities of all five members.

According to official officer, this decision is result from discussions among the members and staffs. “Each of 5 members decided to go and walk towards their own direction of dream.” he said.

TVXQ debuted in 2005 in Japan, in 2008 and 2009 they managed to have two consecutive years participation in NHK’s festival, and the members are getting even more popularity among the young generation, along with many more fans all across Asia. One of the member Jejung has been focused on solo activities as he is already scheduled to appear in Fuji TV drama series starting this month.

According to CD ranking site “Oricon Style” that have the most reputation in Japan; TVXQ’s 30th single piece “Toki wo Tomete” that is released on March 24th in Japan made the first place again for the weekly ranking.

TVXQ extended their own record of single CD sales accomplished by overseas artist by ranking the first place total of eight times.

Including this single and other single released this year by TVXQ and also their first album all ranked the first place this year at Oricon Ranking and they proved their popularity.

In addition, the achievement of 1,000,000 pieces of total sales by TVXQ is close at hand this year as well.

Male group Tohoshinki released their first Best Album in Japan in last February and Recording Industry Association of Japan has awarded them their first double platinum rating.

Recording Industry Association of Japan announced recently through their official website the rank of albums and DVDs sales numbers that are released since last January. Among the best albums, Tohoshinki “BEST SELECTION 2010″ has been sold for more than 500,000 copies thus was given ‘Double Platinum’ rating.

Just last year, a single unit that was released by Tohoshinki Micky Yuchun and Youngwoong Jejung entitled “COLORS ~ Melody & Harmony ~” as well as the group’s live concert DVD “4th Live Tour 2009 – The Secret Code – FINAL in Tokyo Dome” each achieved gold rating.

Releasing “break out” in january and on 2/17 they released the “best selection 2010″ their best album that is full with their past hard works. They both made a record and was a huge hit. They are a big group now that needs no explanation of who they are. Many media’s have said how their dance and songs have great quality.

That it true but that’s not the only charm. Each of their characters, how they treat theirfans, how they treat the media always with a smile, and always being honest and looking straight forward. When you make into words it sounds so easy but that is something you can’t do easily. If I exaggerate a little you can say that they are great as a human being. That’s why when you listen to their songs you want to listen to their human nature. When they sing a love song you can see how they understand the story,when they overlap the harmony with their voices, and how they look at each other and care about them. You can’t just label them as people who are good at dancing and singing.

On 3/24 they are releasing their 30th single CD, the song that was in the best album too “Toki wo tomete”. It was used as a television commercial song. Many fans were waiting for this song to be released. In the intro its as if jaejoong is whispering and junsu’s beautiful but a bit sad voice heats up the song, when it comes to the bridge of thesong, Yoochun’s sexy voice, Yunho’s strong voice, and Changmin’s voice that can become high to low makes the song dramatic. “Stop the time and I want to be near you”. It has a strong and straight forward feeling that isn’t just beautiful but stable. Near the end the piano makes you imagine the sky full of stars. The second chorus part where Jaejoongsings “I can’t say I love you well”好きだよって上手く言えなくって」 represents Tohoshinki’s many love songs that has the theme “Love that passed by”通り過ぎた恋.

Each sings a phrase that can be used in a movie or a drama. You can’t explain in words but they make the climax natural. The song after “Toki wo tomete” is Yunho’s“Checkmate”. Yunho sang this at the 2009 concert, it has a sexy dance that is unforgettable. Usually he stands as the leader and looking our for the members but when he sings the solo song he puts out all of him. When you listen to this song once again with the tokyo dome, you want to have fun and enjoy it again but “Tohoshinki 4th live tour 2009 ~thesecret code~ final in tokyo dome” blu-ray is going to be released on3/17. You have to check that out.

Also on the same day the DVD withTohoshinki’s PV’s “Tohoshinki video clip collection -the one-” will be released. From “stay with me tonight” to “break out ” will be in it, making it total of 26 clips. Same with the CD’s and lives you can tell the history of tohoshinki. It is confirmed that Jaejoong from TVXQ (24) will debut at Fuji TV’s drama “Sunaoni Narenakute” (April start, Thursdays, 10.00 PM) for the first time on the 8th.

Jaejoong who played a main role of a Japan-Korea collaboration movie “Heaven’s Postman”written by a popular writer, Eriko Kitagawa (48) will debut as a Japanese actor with the drama “Sunaoni Narenakute.”

This is a youth group drama of five men and women that meat through an internet communication tool “twitter.”

The five friends who get over the problems that each had become a true friends. It will be co-starred by an actor, Eita (27), and an actress, Juri Ueno (23).

Jaejoong was selected to play a role of a doctor who came to Japan from Korea with his young sister and work at a medical equipment maker company, but he is troubled with the pressure without much business results.

Eita will play a role of a photographer; Ueno will play a role of a high school substitute teacher.

There are also Tetsuji Tamayama (29), Megumi Seki (24) who play the part of the friends who met through twitter.

Producer Toshiyuki Nakano said,

I mean, wouldn’t you dislike it if my personality was the same as my appearance? I’m sad when people misunderstand me. For example, if Junsu says “Idiot!”, others would see it like a joke. But if I say the same thing, everyone would probably think I really mean it. The normal Jejung is absolutely not cold at all~ If I had to say it in one word, I’m a bit M (laughs). When everyone says “I’m tired~ It’s too bothersome~”, I’ll say “I’ll do it first!” Changmin is the same. We like work!! I am a bit spontaneous too. I would suddenly become happy and sad sometimes, a bit masochistic in work, but I think I’m an S-type in love… But I’m conscious of these sides. Because I know myself the best (laughs). I want to treasure this gap. Well, I don’t want to become overly full of myself (Lit: Doesn’t want to refer to himself as ore-sama). I would hate that. I work hard as Tohoshinki’s leader, but when I’m with my friends or members, I’m just a normal guy. I am courteous, and tell jokes too. Although my original personality doesn’t change, I’m different from the Yunho you see at work. I’m a bit more energetic. Changmin always tells me, “Yunho-aniki (older brother) seems pure and simple like a high school student.” That’s because Changmin usually emits more of an aura than I do (laughs). Lately, I personally enjoy traveling here and there. Even when I’m busy, I try to make time for travelling. Changmin is filming in Jejudo right now, and I went there to cheer him on, telling him to do his best. I also snowboarded there! It was a great adventure. I didn’t know how people my age pass their days before. I wore a mask and a cap, and dressed like a normal university student. Just by walking here and there in that 5-6 hours, I felt that there are so many people living their various lives to the fullest. That became my drive, and I carried a new attitude towards my work. Because I’m the leader, I tend to be the leading type in love. If I like someone, I would date her for a long time, like 3-4 years. I cannot date or love someone lightly. But I would probably observe her as a friend for 2-3 years before dating her. If I then think she really is a good girl, I would immediately confess to her. Recently, I’ve become more mature and fixed my shyness.

When I’m with my members only, I’m really quiet. It isn’t that I’m super-quiet, but I’m shy. I was really shy back then, and it was worse then. I was really at loss when it came to meeting people for the first time, even in normal places. I didn’t know what I should talk about. I’m especially weak when it comes to girls (laughs). I really wanted to talk to them, but I couldn’t speak well. I’ve become better lately…but compared with the members, I’m not! Because I’m not good at talking, I like girls who are bright (Note: weird wording). But if I meet a girl I like, I’ll definitely confess to her first. That’s because I’m a guy! Charismata (*TVXQ) enliven a pure youth group drama with their exquisite harmony.It became clear on the 8th that TVXQ will be in charge of a theme song of the movie “Kimiga Odoru Natsu”,(*Meaning,”Summer Dancing You”), a lead actor will be Junpei Yokomizo (20).The title music is “Ｗｉｔｈ　Ａｌｌ　Ｍｙ　Ｈｅａｒｔ～君が踊る、夏”, which is recorded in TVXQ’s new best album “BEST SELECTION 2010″ that will be released in Japan on February 17th, 2010.

This gem song with the piano ballad will heap up an impressive product of this film which portraits the maturing period of youths.
　
The festival featured in the movie has thick pastime that gives poetic charm, portrayed in the summer of Kochi(prefecture in Japan) as the stage. It is a story the young man of the lead character struggles with a fighting spirit with their friend; for a girl living toward the dream to dance at a festival while having an intractable disease.

The movie producer Shun Arikawa who is a great fan of TVXQ from their debut in Japan in 2005, sent them a love call last November to seek them, “To sing the wonderful theme song which matches in a story of the dream that youths lost and the broken friendship to be regenerated.”

Arikawa said that he thought, “Only TVXQ who continue to charm an Asian youths are able to stream down courage and hope through their song and dance!“; from the very beginning when he decided to film this movie after observing a Yosakoi festival for the first time.

The offer was sent when three members were opposed over a contract dispute issue with their office in Korea and when media was paying attention toward their future activities. In addition, it was the time when it was very busy for them with TV program collecting of the end of the year programs in those days. However, the five members were touched by enthusiasm of Arikawa and willingly consented to his offer.

In the past, they experienced movie theme song of the animated cartoon in Japan; but, as for Japanese movie (the photograph taken on a spot), it is their first experience.

Therefore their representative production of the piece was asked to be written by Shinjiro Inoue who has good reputation by writing TVXQ’s famous ballad musical piece “Stand by U”. (*Inoue Won two Japan Record Taisyo Award by TVXQ songs and he is also a huge fan of TVXQ! ^^)
It is a piano ballad song which five members love to sing. The recording was performed in a studio of Tokyo in thebeginning of December, last year.

At the recording session, they hit a hot feeling and sang it emotionally without compromising at all. The ballad song which overflows in passion and an impression to color the youth movie was completed.

Arikawa said that when he first heard the sound source, it was really good and he even said, “This is it! This song matches the movie perfectly!” He was moved very much and decided to use the music as an insertion song as well as a theme song. It is also collected in TVXQ’s first best album “BEST SELECTION 2010″ that will be released on February 17th, 2010.

It seems to place a one good stone (step) for their contract issue that their movie theme song will be open in Japan in September, 2010. Their Japanese position office, AVEX announced, “About their future activities, we will announce when it is officially set.” It seems we will be able to expect further activiteis of TVXQ all the more.

Korean 5-member group Tohoshinki have made the record as the highest selling artist for foreign artists in the initial sales for singles category. Their 29th single 「BREAK OUT！」was released on 27 January and became first on the 8 February Oricon Singles Ranking Chart.

For the initial sales record for foreign artists, up until now, it had been held by Elton John’s “Memorial Song for the former British Princess Diana”, 「Candle In The Wind〜Tribute To Princess Diana, Britain’s Princess」(released September 1997), which sold 184,000 copies.

In this area, Tohoshinki broke this record which lasted for 12 years and 4 months, by selling 254,000 copies of their single, becoming the first foreign artist in history to pass the 200,000 mark in initial sales.In addition to becoming first place for foreign artists in initial sales, this will also be Tohoshinki’s 7th work to add on to their list of achievements for getting a #1 single, making this a double achievement for them.

Their first single in 2010 is also the theme song for NHK Drama 8’s 『とめはねっ！鈴里高校書道部』. The B-side to this song is the solo number 「XIAHTIC」which was written, composed and arranged by Junsu.

The 29th single of Korean dance-vocal group Tohoshinki, “BREAK OUT!”, sold an approximately 170,000 copies on its first day, and ranked first on Oricon’s daily chart on 1/26. While being in the middle of break-up turmoils, this is a good start that is probably going earn them first place on Oricon weekly chart for the 7th time.

The title song “BREAK OUT!”, which contains encouraging messages to young people who are trying their best, is the theme song for NHK’s drama “Tomehane! Suzuri Koukou Shodoubu”. The coupling song is Junsu’s solo “XIAHTIC”.

Tohoshinki released their single “HUG” in November 2004 to mark their first time coming to Japan, and officially debuted in Japan in April 2005 with their single “Stay With Me Tonight”.

They first entered the Oricon weekly chart with their 7th single “Sky” (on sale in August 2006), which ranked 6th of that week. They have constantly been on the top 10 of the chart since then.

Starting from their 18th single “Purple Line” (on sale in January 2008), they’ve had 6 singles that rank first on Oricon weekly chart, and are currently holding the record for being the only foreign artist to acquire that achievement.

First Time Ever!! Male Group To Be The Cover Page of JJ!

The group who has the top -class popularity not only in Korea but also in Japan prepared a big surprise for their fans.

A treasure shot the five members wearing a black and a gray suit gathering together appears in a cool expression will be on a cover of the woman fashion magazine “JJ” in March 2010.

It is the first splendid achievement in history that a male group to appear in JJ woman’s magazine. Usually, woman celebrities or contracted models decorate the cover of this magazine which greets their 35th periodical foundation anniversary.

The first page gravure for eight pages carries TVXQ in the space too. It also presents “100 questions and 100 answers” that a member openly confesses from their work to their private life, also an autographed photograph, not to mention an individual photographs, on top of that, there are more appendix plans to please fans all fully packed in this edition.

According to the person who is in charge of the planning department of Kobunsha, when JJ featured serialization of TVXQ from March through May last year, the responses by the readers were splendid; they planned to print “TVXQ cover & the first page, a special surprise edition”.

They continued offering their idea to TVXQ from last summer, and it I finally managed to reach the realization. The person in charge said, “It includes articles of the private questions which all fans wanted to know. We represented fans and cross fired them with tons of questions.”

The photography and the interview were performed in a studio in Tokyo at the end of December, last year. They had full schedule to perform at NHK Red and White Singing Contest and also for the preparation of the record grand prix award, but the interview time exceeded an original plan, and five members were eager to answer them together, and that it became the spot where it was filled with the laughter.

TVXQ Xiah Junsu had been infected by virus and was rushed to hospital.

Xiah Junsu felt something wrong with his body on the 18th, and was admitted to hospital in Kangnam, Seoul for an emergency treatment.

An official said, “On the 17th in the morning, Junsu complained from dizziness and pain that he was taken to hospital to have medical check which diagnosed him to have virus infections that result in an accumulative fatigue.”

Junsu was advised to have a total rest at home after received injections and treatment at hospital. Although the virus infections is not serious, but he has to take a total rest at home to get himself fully recovered, and he also received inpatient treatment for about 1 week in the hospital.

Junsu’s home rest treatment definitely affects his musical rehearsals. Currently Junsu is in the midst of musical rehearsals for his role as a genius composer Wolfgang Mozart. A close source of the musical said, “As this is his first challenge in musical, Junsu has been practicing really hard to show the best appearance of him on stage.”

Both five-member groups Dong Bang Shin Ki and Big Bang received the exceptional recognition of being “Cultural Ambassadors.”

The private organization from the Cultural Tourism Board, the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) stated, “Due to the contributions they have made in the development of the cultural aspect through popular music, we have decided to appoint/award them as ‘Cultural Ambassadors’ as a form of recognition.”

They have produced the most number of successful album records even in such a difficult period of time in the music industry, and have been energetically involved in both local and overseas activities; these are the main reasons behind this award.

A representative from KOFICE said, “This honor was awarded based on those who have contributed to the cultural industry on a yearly basis. Every year, this award has been given to those working in the cultural field, but this year is an exception as it has been given to idol groups.”

They added, “As both Dong Bang Shin Ki and Big Bang are busy with their schedules, the official announcement will be made later in January.”

Singers, Kim Hyun-Joong and Jaejoong went for a trip to Canada together.Jaejoong and Kim Hyun-Joong are traveling around the Vancouver and whole area of Canada from January 9thand spend the first holiday of the New Year there.

It seem that this trip was performed since Kim Hyun-Joong heard the news that Hero Jaejoong was planningto pursue a trip to Canada to enjoy and rest from the work. And Hyun-Joong wanted to go together with Hero.As for Jaejoong, he is traveling with few acquaintances and Kim Hyun-Joong appearance reflected on traveling alone.

The aide of two of them had described that, “Kim Jaejoong and Kim Hyun-Joong progressed a kind of relationship model ofbeing-”younger and older brother”. If there is a spare time, they meet up often and it is described thatthey introduce each other’s acquaintances which expands their acquaintances even more together.

Jaejoong visited Australia recently and right after his return to Korea, he faced toward Canada immediately.The reason of the trip is to rest from the hard work he had done in the past,last Decembers fan meeting plus multiple activities in Japan.Kim Hyun-Joong also worked hard both as an actor and a singer and left a good result last year,and the time to heal fatigue was necessary.

The aid mentioned that they were surprised to hear the news that the fans witness two of them being together in Vancouver, Canada.The news seems to be shown that the fans felt that it was unique that a member of TVXQ and SS501,two representative stars of Korea went for a trip together.

The 3 TVXQ members first trip together is to prepare for their own activities?

3 TVXQ members who have been in conflict with SM Entertainment regarding exclusive contract issue, Hero Jaejoong, Xiah Junsu, and Micky Yoochun recently took a trip to Australia together.

On the 4th, they went to Sydney Australia to take a break and go for a tour to popular tourist attractions in entire city including the Opera House, before coming back on the 7th.

[News] 100103 TVXQ Japan Contract will Expire in June… Afterthat?

AVEX official gave an official stand related to the chaotic/confusion among TVXQ fans both in Korea and Japan which has been happening after the article about TVXQ already stepped on disbanding procedure was released by Japanese newspapers.

On the 3rd, Nikkan Sports Japan quoted Japanese official from AVEX company, “The policy of TVXQ to work as five members doesn’t yet to change.”

However, as been informed, TVXQ contract with their Japan company AVEX will expire in June. If the contract is not extended from now on, whether TVXQ can continue activities in Japan, it won’t be yet secured.

Currently TVXQ Changmin and Yunho still remain under SM Entertainment while the rest members Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu have left expanding their each individual activities.

Just sometime ago, in Japan TVXQ attended NHK’s year-end award festival Kouhaku Uta Gassen as five members for the first time, however the three members, whose provisional disposition application to terminate exclusive contract against SM Entertainment was accepted by the Korea court as the issue of court injunction, seem to be more passionate in the performance and there was an unseen tense and emotional conflict with the remaining two members that makes the current situation is impossible to predict.

The problem now is whether SM will extend the contract of the 3 members with AVEX after June.

The fact that currently TVXQ is at their peak of popularity in Japan is something that can not be ignored under any condition especially in relation to revenue circumstances.

TVXQ is now in a situation of an attempt to reach into final decision amicably to be able to work together in a long-term in Japan.

[News] Japan press “TVXQ will be disbanded this summer.”… 3 Members “We don’t even know.”

Japan media reported that due to the dispute by some members, popular group TVXQ’s local activities has been stopped and the members will have a summer good bye concert this year.

According to the media, SM Entertainment and AVEX Japan had been in negotiation with the members to resolve the situation, however, it was confirmed that the disbandment was an unavoidable decision, therefore in the coming June at Ryogoku, Tokyo will be held a ‘Sayonara Concert’ which is a good bye concert that will be held both in Korea and Japan and the schedule will be arranged in near future.

According to many Japanese medias’ reportage, TVXQ was said to be already in official disbanding, caused many fans to shock.

On the 1st, Sports Nippon Japan reported in highlights, “South Korea’s TVXQ breaks up at its peak of popularity.” According to the report, the lawsuit that is filed by part of the members against their label brings cracks among the members that is impossible to be resolved. Thus, the members traveled between Korea and Japan in split group and those evidences became adjustments that leads to an official disbanding.

TVXQ has enjoyed a great popularity in Japan, as the main title of news registered by Yahoo Japan. TVXQ has appeared at The 60th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen on December 31st.

Sports Nippon reported that eventhough TVXQ stood together performing on NHK Kouhaku stage, however, the three members who filed the lawsuit seemed to show different passion than the rest two members in the performance. Chinese fans of group TVXQ, whose certain members are locked in a dispute with their agency, released an ad in a daily Korean newspaper to commemorate the group’s 6th anniversary since their debut and the fans pressured the agency by saying, “Stop harassing TVXQ.”

‘Baidu BAR’, a Chinese fan group in China’s biggest portal site Baidu, released an ad on the front page of Korea’s Gyunghyang Newspaper on the 26th.
